"Soushinko" is a small offering plate for prayer, decorated with Kanazawa gold leaf, that represents thoughts (sou), heart (shin), and light (kou).
This small 100mm square vessel combines the futuristic feel of clear acrylic with the traces of time left by cracked foil. The cracks of gold, silver, and copper floating in the clear transparency represent "the trajectory of the heart, continuing from the past to the present and into the future."

What is Kanazawa Gold Leaf?

Kanazawa gold leaf is a traditional gold leaf produced in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and accounts for approximately 99% of gold leaf production in Japan. With over 400 years of history and advanced craftsmanship, it is finished to an extremely thin thickness of just 1/10,000 of a millimeter, and is known for its beautiful luster and high quality. It is widely used not only to decorate temples and shrines, but also in crafts, cosmetics, food, and more.
