Bringing tradition into everyday life and prayer into the present
Attracting attention both at home and abroad
Three-piece set of Buddhist altars by Orii

"OLIVIA EDEL" is a set of three Buddhist altar accessories crafted by Momentum Factory Orii, a traditional Takaoka copperware coloring studio. Its luxurious finish has captivated many. Traditional techniques are used to skillfully utilize the corrosive properties of copper and brass, bringing out their vibrant colors. The patterns that emerge almost magically exude a unique presence, further enhancing the piece's status as a Buddhist altar accessory.

Rust Silver: Rust and pure silver plating
The beauty of the mottled pattern created by baking the pot is accentuated by thin layers of pure silver.

Sulfide Brown: Sulfide and mottled pattern
The metal is oxidized using chemicals and then repeatedly sulfurized to produce various patterns and colors.

Patina Black: Verdigris x Black Dye
After applying the black ibushi coating, the wood is chemically altered with chemicals to bring out the verdigris.

The candle holder comes with a wick. It is also the perfect size for a cup candle.

↑This is an incense burner.

↑This is a flower vase.

The size is just right, not too big and not too small.

Made in Takaoka

Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, a "town of casting" overlooking the Tateyama mountain range
Casting techniques, including copperware, have been deeply rooted in the area for a long time, and traditional techniques are still being passed down today. Takaoka City, the second largest city in Toyama Prefecture, is known as a town of metalwork with a history of over 400 years as a major producer of copperware and other castings. It is said that over 90% of the copperware in the country is made in Takaoka. The statue of Ninomiya Kinjiro, which is often seen in elementary schools, and the bell that rings at New Year's Eve, are actually made from Takaoka copperware.

The casting temperature for brass is 1,100°C.

Each piece is poured by hand into a sand mold. The rising smoke is not steam or water vapor, but is produced by the burning of zinc, which has a lower boiling point than copper.

The brass is melted in a gas furnace for about two hours. All work is dangerous and must be done carefully.

The craftsman's hands and eyes give it a smooth finish.

The finish is beautiful.

The smooth brass finish brings out the beautiful finish of the paint.

This traditional technique utilizes the corrosive properties of copper and sulfur to control chemicals and flames to produce vibrant colors. Orii creates limitless colors and magically floating patterns. This technique, which has attracted attention both domestically and internationally, produces one-of-a-kind colors.
